My father is going to be best man at a wedding. He has to hire a tail coat. This entailed (sorry, couldn't resist) going to a shop in Foreigndon.
The shop was staffed by a lady, or, in my father's view, a rather pushy, forceful type of lady. And we don't like them.
Here are some of her offences.
1) suggesting that men are stupid.
2) suggesting that most men can't tie bow ties. My father informed her that he can tie a bow tie in the dark.
3) complaining that men are unable to fasten cufflinks.
4) suggesting that men are stupid. (sorry, this was covered already)
5) complaining about men who frantically ring up at the last minute wanting the impossible.
I was a bit surprised that my father, who is invariably addressed as 'sir' by people working in customer service roles, was not recognised as someone with these accomplishments.
Perhaps this lady is in the wrong job. She sells nice suits though, charcoal grey. Very tasteful.
