I have a new theory. Here goes. Ahem.
Saying you're a blogger is a little bit like coming out.
Today at work, the conversation turned to social media. One of my colleagues had heard about Second Life on a course. (Someone Clever, what is Second Life?) In her version, you can pretend to be a cartoon fairy and waft round your real life pretending that things are the way you want. We agreed that most of us have enough trouble dealing with our First Lives.
I wanted to say, no, no, blogging is great. I've been blogging for five years. There are some fantastic blogs. I'm a blogger. Some of my best friends are bloggers. More people should blog. It's fun.
But I didn't.
